What we collect, how we use it, and who can see it — in plain language.
What We Collect
When you create a profile, we collect the information you provide: name, date of birth, contact details, denomination, church, education, job, district, bio, and a profile photo. Your phone number and the name of your church are kept private — they are stored separately from your profile and are never shown to other members, only to you and to our admins. When you subscribe, we also collect your UPI payment reference number and, if you choose to attach one, a screenshot of your payment as proof. We also record when one member opens another member's profile, so that Premium members can see who has viewed theirs. Every member's visits are recorded, whichever membership they hold, and only the person who was viewed can see the list — never the other way round.
How We Use It
We use this information to show your profile to other members, to help you search and filter for a compatible match, and to verify and activate your paid membership. We do not use your information for anything beyond running Grace Matrimony.
Who Can See It
Your profile and photo are visible only to signed-in members whose own identity we have verified with a government ID — this is enforced at the database level, not just hidden in the app. A membership is not required to view profiles, but verification is, so there is a real, checked person behind everyone who can see you. Members who are not verified see nobody at all. Our admins can see your profile, your phone number, your church and your payment reference in order to approve your membership and to keep the platform safe.
Where Your Data Lives
Grace Matrimony is built on Supabase, which hosts our database, sign-in system, and file storage. Your data is stored on Supabase's infrastructure under our account.
What We Don't Do
We do not sell your data to anyone. We do not run advertising on the platform, and we do not share your information with advertisers or data brokers.
Your Rights
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. You can delete your account yourself at any time from Edit Profile — this permanently erases your profile, photos, ID documents, interests, matches and conversations. For anything else, contact us through the Contact page and we will act on your request.
Photos & Secure Access
Profile photos are stored securely and served through time-limited signed links rather than public URLs, so they cannot be freely shared or accessed by non-members.
Government-ID Verification
To keep every profile genuine, we require identity verification before your profile appears in search. You can upload a government ID (such as Aadhaar), which is kept in private, access-restricted storage and viewed only by our admins for review — or verify through DigiLocker, from which we receive only your name and date of birth. In both cases we never store your ID number — only the fact that you were verified.
Data Retention & Contact
We keep your information for as long as your account exists. If you delete your account or ask us to remove your data, we will do so. For any privacy question or request, reach us through the Contact page.
Messages between members
Messages you send through Grace Matrimony are private between you and your match, and cannot be edited or deleted once sent. If a conversation is reported to us, our team may review that conversation to keep the community safe. We never share your messages with anyone else.
